Acting Minister of Finance Discussed with Deputy Chief of UNAMA

H.E Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Acting Minister of Finance spoke with H.E Deborah Levins, deputy chief of UNAMA through a video conference on May 6, 2020.

Deputy Chief of UNAMA congratulated H.E Arghandiwal on assuming the Ministry of Finance; and added that due to the current situation, holding the 2020 Development Conference for Afghanistan is a challenging task, but I am sure you can manage it the best way. She prompted UNAMA’s commitment towards Afghanistan and the readiness to work with MoF in the fight against coronavirus, and holding a successful conference at end of this year.

Acting Minister of Finance expressed his gratitude, and stated that MoF has the responsibility to allocate the funds in the fight against coronavirus. ‘The spread of this pandemic has had adverse effect on Afghanistan’s economy; however, revenue collection is not bad, and we hope that it improves in the near future.

At the end, both parties agreed that MoF, UNAMA and Finland’s special envoy to Afghanistan should separately meet with donor agencies to ensure that Afghanistan achieves its goals from this conference
