Afghanistan and Uzbekistan To Strengthen Bilateral Economic Relations
H.E. Prof. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, and the Afghan economic sector authorities and Uzbek Economic Delegation led by H.E. Badriddin Abidov, Deputy Minister of Investment and Trade, meets to discuss strengthening and expanding bilateral economic and business relationships.
The two sides discussed cooperation in field of energy, gas, oil, and mine, Customs electronic data interchange, textile, trade and transit, and higher education and agriculture.
“In recent years, Afghan-Uzbek bilateral relations especially in economic sector have been remarkable and expanded tremendously” said Acting Minister of Finance while welcoming the delegation. “Today, three MoU on cooperation with Afghanistan’s cotton, vegetable oil Textile enterprises, Mines and Geology, and between the Chambers of commerce, and one protocol on mutual Customs electronic information interchange will be signed which opens new chapters of cooperation between the two countries,” he added.
While the Uzbek side expressed its gratitude for the warm hospitality and welcome of Afghanistan, Deputy Minister Abidov added that Uzbekistan will support all economic policies of Afghan Government, and that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have more friendly relationship at this time, and it will be further strengthened.
The meeting was concluded with the MoUs and protocol signing ceremony and exchange of gifts.
