Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of Energy of Iran to Discuss Economic Issues

H.E. Prof. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, met Mr. Reza Ardakanian, Minister of Energy of Iran who came to Kabul as the head of  delegation, in Presidential Palace (ARG) today July 30, 2019.

In the meeting Mr. Abdul Walid Tamim, Acting Deputy Minister of Finance for Customs and Revenue and Mr. Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan were also  present, two sides discussed further strengthening of bilateral economic and trade ties,  energy cooperation between  two countries, power transmission of Central Asia to Iran via Afghanistan, transferring of Iran’s oil and gas to Central Asia via Afghanistan, economic opportunities for both countries to export energy, exchange of merchandize as material to material form, customs cooperation including sharing customs data, cooperation in railway sector, set up of border markets, evaluation of mutual agriculture capacities, resolving Arian Bank problems, preparation for Joint Economic Committee between Afghanistan and Iran and other like issues were discussed.

Acting Minister of Finance assured Minister of Energy of Iran that the problems of Arian Bank would be followed  with Afghanistan Central Bank and will  handle it in the lights of law..

Minister of Energy of Iran asked Acting Minister of Finance to make a visit to Iran at an earliest convenience to follow up interested economic issues and to visit Chahbahar Port.
