Acting Minister of Finance: DABS Projects To Be Implemented Better

H.E Arghandiwal, Acting Minister of Finance met with H.E Amanullah Ghaleb, Chief Executive of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) on April 30, 2020. In this meeting, the parties discussed DABS project progress and the problems in the insecure areas. Also, solving tax problems of DABS projects, along with the projects that are being funded by the Asian Development Bank were discussed. The parties also talked about the implementation of 37 different projects that has the commitment for 132 Million Dollars during the 1399 FY. Meanwhile, procurement process for 17 projects in the current FY, and the one Billion Dollars commitment by the Asian Development Bank that 64% of it will be given to DABS were discussed in the meeting.

Acting Minister of Finance committed to support DABS in implementing their projects without delay, to help the energy sector’s sustainability. DABS should prepare detailed reports of these project’s implementation.

At the end, it was decided that DABS will send a report of its projects to MoF this week; and the projects that are waiting for the National Procurement Authority’s input will be referred to NPA and their tax problems will be solved by the Large Taxpayers Directorate.
