Registration Process of Undocumented vehicles has began

On Oct 31, 2020, the registration process of undocumented vehicles has begun during a ceremony at Customs National Academy. The event was attended by H.E. Abdul Hadi, Arghandiwal, the Acting Finance Minister, several MoF, and relevant department officials.This process aims to increase the national revenue, ensure security and civil order, and prevent traffic disruptions, the process started based on a decree of the Afghan president and the Enactment No. 15 of the National Security Council.

Initially, Khalillulah SalehZada, General Director of Customs provided information about the registration process for undocumented vehicles to participants and audience, adding that; these vehicles have been smuggled into the country from the borders. After many efforts, in coordination with the President's office and the National Security Council managed to process (register) these vehicles by obtaining customs fees and issuing them legal documents and licenses.

“It is gratifying that today to prevent illegal activities; we have started the process to register undocumented vehicles. it will be helpful to our national security because most illegal activities are done by them. All vehicles that have imported into the country illegally since 1990 should be registered, and after the deadline, if someone imports illegal vehicles the country, we will deal with under Afghanistan law, and will not accept any kind of excuses,” said; Acting Minister of Finance.

It is worth mentioning that, the process starts from Oct 31, 2020, and will continue until Dec 17 this year. while dateline finishes, any undocumented vehicles imported to Afghanistan will be seized per the President Decree and Enactment of the National Security Council.
