MoF’s Statement: World Bank Disburses Its Outstanding $50 mln Loans!

As a result of continuous communication process and discussions on behalf of MoF with the representatives of World Bank (WB), the WB has opened its office in Kabul, and it is now fully prepared to commence the practical process of disbursing its outstanding loans in Afghanistan.
The WB owes $50 million to logistics and construction corporations in Afghanistan, according to confirmed figures, which will be disbursed to the relevant corporations in four phases in full coordination with MoF.
In the first phase, the WB will disburse $10.8 million directly to the companies/ corporations, and the remaining $39.11 million will be disbursed directly through the Ministry of Finance in three phases.
MoF considers the commencement of the loans disbursement process by the World Bank a ‘major financial development’, which will relaunch major development projects at nation-wide, create job opportunities, and obtain positive consequence in further strengthening the national economy.
