Siemens Cooperates in Sustainable Development with Afghanistan

H.E. Dr. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, and representatives of Siemens Company Signed a Memorandum of Understanding Cooperation to support sustainable development of Afghanistan. The signing ceremony has taken place in presence of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Siemens Cooperation was signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos – Switzerland which according to that both sides would make efforts to build an inclusive strategy under with the Siemens Company would provide cooperation with in Afghanistan sustainable growth and development by using modern technology.

Signing the MoU, Government of Afghanistan aim is sustainable development; create jobs for youth along with skill building including focus on education and vocational training.

The main aim of signing the MoU, is to strengthen the value of energy infrastructures, by creation of new energy products capacity, building and installation of new energy transmission and distribution system infrastructures and modernization of the available energy infrastructures.

 Investigation of Afghanistan natural gas resources and development of its transformation system, investigation on the ways of using natural gas in the country, work on a plan to could turn Afghanistan into an energy-producing center between the Middle and Sought Asian countries and expand system to help diminish energy losses was also aim of signing the Memorandum of Understanding.

It is worth stating that , Siemens is a German and multinational company operating in the field of telecommunication and lighting equipment, home appliances, power generation equipment, automation systems, industrial automation, health equipment in addition, fire alarm systems
