Acting Minister of Finance And Turkmenistan’s Ambassador To Afghanistan Discusses Energy Projects and Regional Cooperation

H.E. Prof. Mohammad Homayoun Qayumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, met H.E. Ambassador Hoja Ovezov, Ambassador of Republic of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

The parties discussed the implementation of 10 documents signed during the H.E. President Ashraf Ghani’s visits to Turkmenistan on February, 2019.  They also discussed the start of the practical work of 220-volt power transmission line of Torghundi- Herat and Khamab – Qarqeen.

The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan, Pakistan India (TAPI) pipeline project, implementation of the Aqina- Andkhoy and Torghundi –Herat railway project by Ministry of Transport of Turkmenistan, were also part of their discussion. Both sides agreed to pursue on the agreements in the specific areas discussed, and to keep close working cooperation for the smooth implementation of these mutually beneficial important projects.
