State-Owned Enterprises to Be Assessed for Employment Opportunities

On April 23, 2020 H.E Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Acting Minister of Finance met with H.E Jalaluddin Saeed, member of State-Owned Enterprises’ Oversight. Mr. Waheedullah Shahrani, Chief Executive of State-Owned Enterprises was also present at the meeting. Mr. Saeed briefed the Finance Acting Minister on the works and achievements of the State-Owned Enterprises and the current status of the State-Owned Enterprises.

Acting Minister of Finance elaborated on the government’s plan to asses all the State-Owned Enterprises to create employment opportunity for people. He asked for reforms in all the State-Owned Enterprises; their board of directors, plans and activities should be carefully assessed. If the need arises, foreign companies’ help should be asked in this regard

Mr. Saeed assured about the reform plans of the SOEs and will share a report of the plan with the Minister soon.
