About Ministry of Finance:
Directorate of Information Communication Technology at Ministry of Finance mainly focusing in the area providing data and voice services for MoF operations using highly-equipped data center, unified transmission system, and interconnected links via fiber and microwaves. Directorate of ICT is providing reliable and secure platform for overall data and voice connectivity and access to MoF core application services in MoF HQs and sites.
Job Description:
The Senior VMware & Systems Administrator will manage and maintain the virtualized infrastructure and systems within the Directorate of ICT at the Ministry of Finance. This role requires expertise in VMware technologies, system administration, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the virtualized environment.
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines.
Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the virtual infrastructure.
Perform regular backups, updates, and patch management for VMware environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization and system performance.
Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments.
Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for virtualized systems.
Manage and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes.
Automate system tasks and deployments using DevOps tools and practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate virtualized environments with other systems.
Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization infrastructure and procedures.
Provide training and support to junior system administrators and IT staff.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications in VMware technologies (e.g., VCP, VCAP) and Kubernetes (e.g., CKA, CKAD) are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in system administration, with at least 5 years focusing on VMware technologies.
Extensive experience in managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere environments.
Proficient in Windows and Linux server administration.
Demonstrated experience with network and storage integration in virtualized environments.
Proven track record of implementing and managing disaster recovery solutions.
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible).
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
Familiarity with other virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, KVM) is an advantage.
