Acting Minister of Finance Lays the Foundation Stone of Afghanistan Printing Protected Document Project

H.E. Prof. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, laid the foundation stone of Afghanistan Printing Protected Document Project in a ceremony today July 02, 2019.
In the ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Fahim Hashemi, Acting Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, representatives of office of the president and national procurement authority, deputy Minister of Finance for Administration and other government officials have participated.

The Printing Protected Document Project implemented by office of the president which costs approximately 5647000000Afghani. Its machinery and technical equipment worth 15000000 Afghani which has the capacity of printing 12000 A4 paper per hour.
“The foundation stone we lay today is important in different aspects, which by its implementation huge and deep changes would appear in the process of government documents particularly ministries of education, higher education, public health, economy, security, collection of domestic revenue as well as our social and political lives. The project is going to be completed in 18 months,” said H.E. Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance.

“Commencing the project means Afghanistan self-sufficiency in the field of printing industry by which printing any kind of valuable documents is possible. Likewise, Implementation of this project provides us about 1 billion Afghani annual revenue and prevents currency escape. I express my gratitude to Federal Republic of Germany for funding this project,” he added.
“Afghanistan Printing Protected Document is a historical and national project which its inauguration is a great step towards Afghanistan self-reliance for printing valuable and protected documents. The Printing Protected Document projects makes us independent. Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology is also part of this project and will carry out some of the related works,” said Mohammad Fahim Hashemi, Acting Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology.

It is worth mentioning that, Afghan Currency with the agreement of Da Afghanistan Bank, all kinds of passports, National IDs (Tazkira), Goverment Employee IDs, and educational documents both from public and private schools and universities, arms licenses, driving permit, birth certificate, court bails, working permit, government vehicle permit cards for transit, stickers, (post cards , stamp, visa and so on) voter’s registration documents with the agreement of election commission and other important documents will be printed in this
