Acting Minister of Finance Meets with First Ambassador of Qatar to Kabul

H.E. Prof. Mohammad HumayonQayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure Affairs to H.E. the President, met with Mr. Saeed Mubarak al Khayarin al Hajri, Qatar’s 1st Ambassador to Kabul on March 22, 2020.

In the meeting, Qatar’s Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with initiating diplomatic relations, and called for opening a trade and economic committee between Afghanistan and Qatar. He added that Qatar likes to expand and deepen trade and economic relations between the two countries through bilateral committees and opening direct air corridors.

While welcoming the Ambassador’s proposal, Acting Minister of Finance emphasized on further strengthening the relations; he expressed his delight for the citizens of Afghanistan working in Qatar; and asked to increase business and economic relations with Qatar. Meanwhile, he added that he will share bilateral economic committee and air corridor with relevant department, so technical teams start working on them.

In addition, the Ambassador invited the Acting Minister of Finance to visit Qatar. The Acting Minister of Finance said that he will travel to Qatar at some point, and welcomed the Ambassador’s proposal.
