Acting Minister of Finance and State Minister for Martyrs and Disabled Affairs Discusses Systemic and Administrative Reforms of MMD

H.E. Prof. Mohammed Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, met with Mr. Laluddin Aryubi, State Minister for Martyrs and Disabled today Sep 01, 2019.09.01

In the meeting, the State for Martyrs and Disabled Affairs briefed the Acting Minister of Finance on the deliverables, nature and type of activities of MMD, the implementation of systemic and administrative reforms in the State Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, its budgetary issues and the lack of resources and called on him to reconsider its budget taking into account the importance of its work.

The Acting Minister of Finance said that the budget hearing session for FY-1399 is due to take place and the Ministry of State for the Martyrs and Disabled, as well as other budgetary units should present their budgetary issues in it. The Ministry of Finance will coordinate in allocating of funds in accordance with the applicable laws and facilities.

Prof. Qayoumi told the Minister of State for Martyrs and Disabled about the implementation of the systemic reforms, that a committee should be established consist of the Pension Department of Ministry of Finance, the Population Registration Department and Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Services Commission to review how the necessary reforms are implemented in that department.

Likewise, the Acting Minister of Finance said that  in order to register the figures and statistics of hereditary of martyrs and the disabled properly and provide them with the necessary services, they should request the Pension Department and Population Registration Department for help. He added that we consider assisting the disabled and hereditary of martyrs our duties and obligation and that the Ministry of Finance will cooperate in this regard.

The Minister of State for Martyrs and Disabled Affairs expressed his gratitude to the Acting Minister of Finance for his cooperation said that we are working on a joint committee to closely monitor the experiences of the Pension Department and Population Registration Department and make use of it in identifying the inherit of martyrs and disabilities.
